End of Day Journal (4-9-2010)

It seems like I finally have things settled. With the current screener settings I was able to be much more judicious in my entries, which paid off pretty well, even with today's low market volatility.

Here are the trades:

And here are the totals:

15 round trips - and two of them were actually mistakes. The first was THOR - I was trying to buy into THO, so I exited after I realized, and bought into THO instead (typo). I held it for about 10 minutes and finally figured out that the price on the trade window did not match the chart. Thankfully it only posted a small loss. The second mistake was GNK, I was trying to buy FRO; I had selected and highlighted the correct trade line, and was waiting for some confirmation, but something happened between the waiting and the entry. I realized this mistake much sooner, and had been watching GNK earlier. I was able to bring up the chart pretty quick and decided to give it a little time.

So - 14 roundtrips for today, no scaling, and good stop loss execution. I got burned on VIT on the first roundtip because I didn't check the spread. The second time around, the spread was within tolerance.

I made one live trading round trip on the IRA: the ~11:24 move on AMKR, it fizzled and I exited perfectly for a $0.05 cent gain. I had tried to short the 10:40 drop, but was not able to short due to margin restrictions.

For some reason TWS charts are not reflecting trades, or I would post charts. Just because all the pros do it that way. =)

Interesting day. No large moves in the market, but potential players came to my attention. Judging momentum on a slow moving entry is cumbersome (e.g., ANF, THO) and I would rather avoid them, but it cannot be helped. I am sure it is part of the risk. CRL was very satisfying, rode it up, and shorted the reverse. Heh.

Well - Monday sees some more live action. But only on the movers - my commitment to me.
