Dopamine neurons, metacognition and better trades

I ran across an interesting presentation this weekend from one Jonah Lehrer. It seems to capture and substantiate something very similar to FnG's approach: training and trusting your concentration and instincts.

Interestingly enough, the complete absence of emotion leaves people pathologically indecisive. Over analyzing (or leaving room for fear and self doubt) can lead to choking. Though perhaps not all that practical, watching the presentation and drawing the analogies is an exercise itself in metacognition - I think it helps me to have some sense of knowing what is going on in my head.

Anyhoo... food for thought.
